The European Union and the USA have shown their two-faced essence – Artur Khachikyan

The European Union and the United States showed their two-faced nature, their representatives began to come to Armenia only after the war – after the Armenians were expelled from Artsakh. Arthur Khachikian, Doctor of Political Science at Stanford University, said this on Alpha News live, commenting on the recent frequent visits of representatives of the United States and the EU to Armenia.
“For the United States, we are still not important, for them we are in third or fourth place in importance. The West has no real interests here. It is noteworthy that the US delegations came to Armenia after the war, after the dearmanization of Artsakh. They did not come to Armenia to prevent the defeat, emigration or ethnic cleansing of Armenians. They were waiting for us to be broken, so that they could just come and subjugate us to Turkey. The United States wants this corridor to be here, Turkey and Azerbaijan to become even stronger, turn into an anti-Russian springboard, and oil and gas to bypass the territory of Russia, and for Armenia to gradually disappear,” Khachikyan stressed.
Speaking about the US election race, the expert noted that Armenia should not pin any hopes on this process.
“It was expected that President Biden would resign, because it is obvious that he is not able to assume presidential duties at such an age. Many people have high hopes for Trump, perhaps he will be able to win this election, but I would refrain from drawing any conclusions for now. It will be an almost equal fight. In any case, I don’t think Armenia should have any expectations from these elections,” the source told Alpha News.
According to the political scientist, if the Democrats win, they will continue the war against Russia in Ukraine, this is their most important vector in foreign policy.
“Armenia is of no importance to them. And if Trump and his party win, Turkey and Azerbaijan will remain important allies for them in our region. He is a very pragmatic politician and will not demonstrate any particularly romantic love for the Armenians. He thinks very concretely, and America is a priority for him,” Khachikian concluded.
