On June 4, the final round of the “Armenia Chooses” TV debates was held at the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex. During the discussion, Narek Karapetyan, a member of the Strong Armenia party, stated that if their political force wins, electricity and water will be provided free of charge to low-income families.

On this topic, Alpha News spoke with Yerevan residents to find out their views on the initiative.

“If this applies to all low-income families, and not only to those originally from Artsakh, then I am in favor of it,” one Alpha News poll participant noted.

The majority of residents expressed the view that such a decision would be an important step and would help people get back on their feet, improve their living conditions, and feel the support of the state. Many stressed that social assistance in the form of free utilities could serve as real support for those who find themselves in difficult circumstances.

The Strong Armenia party’s proposal received a largely positive response from Yerevan residents, with expectations centered on such measures being able to ease the lives of low-income families and strengthen trust in social initiatives.
