Armenia’s membership in Eurasian integration structures brings real benefits rather than empty promises, and therefore a clear demand exists among the Armenian people for developing relations with Russia and these structures, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said on Sputnik radio.

“There is an evident broad demand in Armenian society for the steady development of Russian-Armenian bilateral relations and for Armenia’s continued participation in Eurasian integration structures, which deliver real, tangible benefits rather than feeding themselves on empty promises,” Zakharova stated.

The diplomat emphasized that support for bilateral ties on the part of both the Armenian and Russian peoples is grounded in a genuine understanding of what these ties actually provide.

“As far as Russia is concerned, this demand is an honest one, it is based on an honest understanding, not on promises, not on the manipulation of information. This is a choice. People demonstrate this support on the basis of genuinely tangible results from cooperation. They see it, they assess it, they support it,” Zakharova added.
