There is a shortage of liquefied natural gas in Armenia: long queues have formed at gas stations in Yerevan since April 26, and some stations have been temporarily left without fuel. Drivers also report an increase in the price of gas and the sale of fuel on coupons.
According to media reports, the disruptions are related to supply problems: most of the gas enters the country from Russia, and alternative routes are practically not used. The situation was also complicated by the temporary closure of the Upper Lars road, which led to disruptions in fuel delivery.
