This is precisely a classic case where the illegality of the investigative bodies’ work sits directly in the judge’s or the court’s pocket. This was stated by Robert Kocharyan, second President of the Republic of Armenia, during a court session, referring to the criminal case against Yuri Khachaturov, former Secretary General of the CSTO.
“If you have a problem with your representative, you recall that person, after which a case is opened, and that’s it. I understand that the prosecutor is trying to solve some kind of problem, wants to explain everything, but the real picture is this: you recall that person, and the process ends, and then you do whatever you want. But to tangle up such a simple matter like this, to commit a series of unlawful acts, to put the prosecutor in an awkward position, that is unacceptable. I can see the prosecutor trying to justify this somehow,” the second president said.
