“This is not an ordinary crime”: Levon Kocharyan on Shaki incident

Levon Kocharyan, a member of the Armenia faction, commented at a briefing in the National Assembly on the Azerbaijani soldier’s incursion into Armenian territory and the incident involving RA citizens. He stressed that he does not think any sensible person could regard the incident as an ordinary crime at a time when the authorities keep claiming that peace has been finally established.

According to him, the Azerbaijani soldier did not simply get lost and end up on Armenian territory but entered the country armed.

“The Azerbaijani soldier did not simply get lost on the territory of the Republic of Armenia but entered with a weapon in hand, walked 10 or more kilometers and made his way into the home of an Armenian citizen. And what happened, happened; we all know what took place. I don’t know whether this can be classified as an ordinary crime, but it doesn’t fit into any normal logic,” Kocharyan said.
