“This is their approach, that all presidents of Artsakh should be in prison”: Robert Kocharyan on the authorities of the Republic of Armenia

Robert Kocharyan, the second president of Armenia, delivered a message. It should be recalled that today, President Kocharyan, who is currently in custody, turned 72 years old.

“1․ Pashinyan is experiencing another manic exacerbation of his innate fears and complexes, and the judicial system is catering to his phobias. We may lose the country, and it seems that the people have lost their collective instinct of self‑preservation.

2. The latest criminal charge is so absurd that it is difficult to assess it using the normative vocabulary. But I will still try to do so. Overall, to put it broadly, in order to bring such an unfounded charge, one would need either complete moral degradation, or legal incompetence, or complete subservience to Azerbaijan’s judicial and legal system. That is their approach, that all presidents of Artsakh should be in prison.
3. The country has been drawn into an extremely dangerous venture, placed at the center of a clash of geopolitical interests of major powers.
4. The authorities’ goal is obvious, to split society, to create an atmosphere of fear, powerlessness, hatred, and hopelessness.

These are the necessary conditions for fulfilling all of Baku’s demands.

5. Pashinyan is not only ceding Armenian lands; he is destroying the collective will and spiritual values of the nation, which form the foundation of any statehood.

This must come to an end, or everyone must start learning Turkish,” the president’s message states.
