Armenia went to the UN Security Council not even with a paper scoop, but with hands in the pockets, Alpha News editor-in-chief, media expert Tigran Kocharyan said during the live broadcast.

“Ararat Mirzoyan was talking about something, forgetting to voice the most crucial thing — the issue of self-determination of Artsakh, where we have certain diplomatic achievements. Having forgotten about this, Mirzoyan spoke about such things that were perceived by other countries as follows: “You and your leader recognized Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, then who are you, what are you defending and why are you interfering?”.

And Azerbaijan’s approach was “the people of Artsakh are my citizens, Armenia has recognized this, so I will resolve my issues with them, and I will decide how to deliver the cargo, Armenia has nothing to do with it,” Kocharyan said.

According to him, Armenia’s steps were a mere formality.

“Mirzoyan was not prepared even for counter-arguments from Azerbaijan. He could explain that people can’t always be depressed, of course, they have to arrange weddings, and they can do everything in their power. And what did Mirzoyan want to achieve? It is clear that this was a mere formality, and if you go there recognizing Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan, there are no other expectations. The worst that could happen is that the UN Security Council would adopt a resolution mentioning Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan. I believe that Pashinyan sent Mirzoyan hoping that later they would sit down and say, well, the great people of the world have decided that, what can we do against them?”

Kocharyan said and noted that “the refusal of the Artsakh people to surrender undermines the plans of Pashinyan, Aliyev and anti-Armenian forces behind them.”
