Time speaks its word and does its work – Samvel Karapetyan

The legal team of businessman, philanthropist, and owner of the Tashir Group of Companies, Samvel Karapetyan, has released the sixth part of his public letter, in which he assessed the authorities’ repression that undermines Armenia’s internal stability.

“What have the current authorities accomplished? They have succeeded in splitting the country into two opposing camps. Heroes, generals, scientists—the entire elite—have been vilified. Some have been branded as bribe takers, others were made unfit for society. Some entrepreneurs have been targeted, and hundreds of illegal criminal cases were even brought against many of them.

The brutal repressive machine has become the most popular tool and is undermining the internal stability of our country. People who care for the country, who are concerned, and who create jobs and benefits have been turned into political prisoners. Respected individuals and their families have faced persecution, forced to leave their homeland or not to return. I know many of them personally, and the list is long.

The authorities managed to turn everyone against each other. Political forces began to fight among themselves, forgetting about the main evil. But time speaks its word and does its work: those who are ‘wrong’ begin to become ‘right’, and those who are ‘right’, who are now in the minority among the people, I am sure, will soon remain only a small group. Even this pains me, though, because it is through division that our most difficult period began. Soon we will put an end to division together. We will fight.
