Trump gives Xi Jinping an eagle statue

Donald Trump, President of the United States, gave an eagle statue to his Chinese counterpart, Xi Jinping, who is visiting Washington.

Trump presented the gift during a formal dinner. The bald eagle is a symbol of the United States.

“It’s a great honor for me to present President Xi Jinping with a gift created by an outstanding American artist, one of the greatest in the world, and designed with input from Melania (First Lady of the United States — ed.) and myself,” the American leader said.

Trump expressed hope that a good place would be found for the gift in Beijing.
