US President Donald Trump has ordered to pause all military aid to Ukraine following his heated exchange with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a White House official told CNN.

“The president has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well,” a White House official said. “We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution.”

Trump himself has not yet commented on the decision, and there has been no official information from the White House either. According to Bloomberg and Fox News, the pause will remain until the US president determines a good-faith commitment to peace has been made.

The decision has halted shipments that were already in transit through Poland.

In turn, POLITICO, citing a draft document of the Council of the European Union, reported that the EU had suspended the development of a new military aid package to Ukraine for 20 billion euros, proposed by EU foreign affairs chief Kaja Kallas. The reason was Hungary’s objections, which had earlier blocked the respective document.
