Speaking with Alpha News, Americanist Malek Dudakov commented on US President Donald Trump’s ultimatum to Russia.

“We continue to receive mixed signals from the Trump administration. This is a regime of strategic uncertainty—a tactic the Americans like to use, and one that closely aligns with Donald Trump’s negotiating style. He constantly changes the terms, deadlines. In general, I do not rule out the possibility that this agenda will continue to change seriously either in one direction or another, depending on the outcome of the behind-the-scenes negotiations between the United States and our country.

Obviously, the shift in these deadlines is associated not only with pressure on Russia, but also on our key trading partners, such as China and India. The United States is currently engaged in fairly serious negotiations with both countries, so I believe this was Trump’s attempt to use some kind of leverage against them. Another thing is that China has already responded very harshly, stating that the language of ultimatums will not work and that it will continue to pursue a sovereign energy policy. I believe that India will take a similar stance in the near future. The Trump administration will most likely not be able to force these countries to reduce their cooperation with Russia for the sake of cooperation with the United States.

Therefore, when Trump faces this objective reality, he will change his policy again, he will change his agenda again,” Dudakov said.
