Turkey is looking to increase trade turnover with Armenia to $1 billion. To that end, both countries will open their land border for the first time in many years, Turkish newspaper Yeni Şafak reports.

The Alijan and Akyaka border crossings are planned to open as early as this summer.

Trade between the two neighboring countries is currently estimated at just $300–350 million. Opening the border will allow businesses to abandon complex logistics schemes and supply goods directly, the outlet writes.
