The US military carried out new strikes on targets in Iran, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) reported.

“At 5:00 p.m. US Eastern time (midnight local time), US Central Command forces began conducting new strikes on Iran to continue degrading its ability to threaten civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting freely through the Strait of Hormuz,” CENTCOM said on social media platform X.

According to several media outlets, more than ten explosions were recorded on Iran’s southern coast near the cities of Bandar Abbas and Sirik. Three explosions rang out in the southern port city of Jask. Several more explosions occurred on Iran’s Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy of Iran reported the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

Explosions have also been reported in Minab, Jask, Bushehr, and on Qeshm Island.

Tehran issued a warning to residents of the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, and other countries hosting US military facilities, urging their citizens to stay away from these areas.
