US State Department responds to Azerbaijan’s refusal to meet with Armenia in Washington

The United States continues to support peace talks to resolve the issues between Azerbaijan and Armenia, Matthew Miller, US State Department spokesperson, said in a press briefing on Thursday, in response to Azerbaijan’s refusal to attend the meeting in Washington.

“I will say, as we have said before, that we continue to support peace talks to resolve the issues between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We would encourage the two parties to engage in those talks, whether they are here, whether they are someone else – whether they are somewhere else, and that will be – continue to be our policy,” Miller said.
