Vuсiс announces early parliamentary elections in Serbia set for October 25

Aleksandar Vuсiс, President of Serbia, announced that he would make a statement on September 9 at 12:00 regarding the dissolution of the National Assembly (Narodna skupstina) and the calling of early elections.

He emphasized that, under the country’s Constitution and legislation, he needs to make two decisions: a decree dissolving parliament and a decision on holding elections.

Vucic also specified that the elections are planned for October 25. He called on participants in the election campaign to avoid violence and the blockading of educational institutions, noting that this could harm both themselves and other citizens. The President added that he would accept the results of the election regardless of the outcome, and would congratulate his opponents if they won.
