‘We do not recognize the legality of the actions of the Armenian authorities’ — Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan

Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan told reporters in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin that they do not recognize the legality of the Armenian authorities’ actions.

“A gathering of clergymen of all Armenian dioceses has long been planned in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin. For years the gathering was headed by Mikayel Ajapahyan. The meeting was supposed to start at 11:00 AM, but before that the harbingers of trouble arrived to carry out such actions. None of us recognizes the legality of these actions, because they did not come here to detain or arrest some criminal,” the Archbishop said.
