“We have filed a motion to recuse the entire investigative team”: Gagik Tsarukyan’s lawyer

Emin Khachatryan, a member of the legal team of Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia party, told journalists that they had not left the situation surrounding lawyer Yerem Sargsyan unanswered.

“We filed a motion to recuse not only the investigator, the head of the investigative team, but the entire investigative team. It would be naive to expect fairness amid the various violations noted throughout the investigation, so, at least at this stage, we must document both the lawlessness that has occurred and the fact that Mr. Tsarukyan is being deprived of his right to an effective defense by every possible and impossible means, a right enshrined both in the Constitution and in other laws. We must document all of this and not stay silent about it,” he said.

The lawyer noted that he had filed a motion to recuse the investigative team, as a result of which the confrontation was suspended.
