There is a person among the Armenian nation who believes that the return of the Artsakh people to their homeland contradicts the interests of the Armenian people, political scientist Arthur Khachikian told Alpha News.

“It is extremely difficult to comment on the words of a person who constantly changes his words and position. Sometimes he says that Artsakh is Armenia, then he says it is Azerbaijan. Sometimes he says that this is our Sardarapat, and then, like, it is none of our business. Then he goes to Prague and suddenly surrenders Artsakh, and he still cannot answer why he did it and what he got in return. These people are under the influence of the West, Israel, and Turkey; they say and do what they have been told to.

As for the return of the people of Artsakh, I should mention that it is very interesting that among the Armenian nation there is a person who believes that the return of the Artsakh people to their homeland contradicts the interests of the Armenian people. We have set another record. I do not remember this kind of leadership in Armenian history that would say that the return of our people to where they lived for thousands of years, where we have our churches, Gandzasar, and Ghazanchetsots, is contrary to our interests. I am very ashamed that we have such authorities and that our enemy sees it,” he noted.

The political scientist emphasized that there are a number of questions that still remain unanswered, for example, what Armenia gained by surrendering Artsakh.

“We still have no answer as to why Artsakh was surrendered in Prague. What was offered to Armenia for it to take this step? Why did Armenia reject the November 9 agreement, according to which there was hope that in the future the Armenians of Artsakh would be able to get some autonomy? Russia said that there was no need to rush, but these authorities received instructions from the West to surrender Artsakh and subordinate Armenia to Turkey and Azerbaijan. We have reached the point where the head of a neighboring state demands to change the Constitution of our own country, decides together with Putin what the future of the Zangezur corridor will be, and we are taking the first steps to concede it. The future of Armenia is being decided behind our backs, and we have reached the point where local Russophobes have made Russia our enemy and brought it closer to Azerbaijan, our real enemy,” Khachikian concluded.
