“We will not participate in creating illegal investigative commissions”: Ishkhan Saghatelyan

Ishkhan Saghatelyan, MP from the “Armenia” bloc, addressed the possible creation of an investigative commission on the “reform” of the Armenian Apostolic Church during a briefing at the National Assembly, emphasizing that they do not intend to participate in creating illegal commissions.

“We haven’t yet discussed this issue within the bloc, so I can’t present a final decision. I think we have no desire to join the illegal investigative commissions being created by this National Assembly. We saw the results of the investigative commissions created by the ‘Civil Contract’ (GD) of the previous parliament. People were deceived for 5 years into believing that the circumstances of the war were supposedly being investigated, but the public still hasn’t been provided with any information on this matter,” Saghatelyan said.

As a reminder, Nikol Pashinyan, Prime Minister, recently announced the preparation of a report on the “crisis” in the Armenian Apostolic Church, after which an investigative commission may be created in the National Assembly.
