“We will work 24/7 for the sake of change for Armenians”: Samvel Karapetyan

Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the Strong Armenia party, told members of his team at a meeting that once in power, they will work 24/7 — for the sake of change for the Armenian people.

“Very soon we will take on a great responsibility. We must together ensure the rapid development of our country, but before discussing development processes, I want to put on record today what we have inherited from the previous incompetent government.

We have inherited a lost second homeland, territories occupied by Azerbaijan on Armenia’s sovereign soil, and an Yerablur cemetery that has grown several times over as a result of a bloody war. We have completely lost the trust of our key allies through the language of blackmail.

Armenia has turned into a center of geopolitical conflict. Our finest compatriots are currently sitting in a Baku prison, the economy is in complete ruin: 21% poverty, a society crushed by debt, a national debt approaching 15 billion, the dismantling of the Diaspora’s economic potential in Armenia, and the utter indifference of domestic investors driven away by law enforcement abuses…” Karapetyan’s statement reads.
