What awaits American Armenians after Trump’s election? Levon Baronian comments
After his re-election, Donald Trump will pay close attention to the domestic problems of the United States, Levon Baronian, editor of the Oragark newspaper and public figure, told Alpha News.
“Speaking of what awaits American Armenians with the re-election of Donald Trump, we should note that he will pay attention to the issues that worry us every day. These are the economy, local security, inflation, etc. He will pay less attention to the US foreign agenda and pursue a more isolated policy. We can also expect extreme steps from him, and some may welcome these steps. One of these extreme steps could be Canada joining the US. But I do not think President Trump will take serious steps in this direction. He’s just trying to put psychological pressure on people. But if we take into account that the United States ensures Canada’s security but receives little in return, then there is reason to think about it,” Baronian said.
Speaking about the wildfires that have raged in the United States in recent weeks, he stressed he had lived in Los Angeles all his life and had never seen winds this strong.
“In this regard, it was an unprecedented disaster that complicated people’s lives. As you know, over the past six months, a number of insurance companies have refused to fulfill their obligations, but all this was not an accident. It would be wrong to say that they did something intentionally, but as a result of the analysis, they realized that something like that could happen. And there are several reasons why they came to this conclusion. If you remember, there were unprecedented rains in Los Angeles last year. In those days, the government was again unable to properly resolve the problems. All the vegetation that grew because of the rainfall led to what we see today,” he said.
