Speaking with Alpha News, Russian journalist and war correspondent Timofey Yermakov analyzed the serious crisis in relations between Russia and Azerbaijan due to the actions of Russian forces in Yekaterinburg.

“Azerbaijan is a terrible ally. Naturally, sooner or later all this had to be revealed. Many facts and the purchase of anti-aircraft systems from Azerbaijan came to light. We learned about this during the trial in the Kiev court. A scheme for manufacturing drones and ammunition in Azerbaijan for the Ukrainian army was revealed. I believe this isn’t the only facility involved.

My colleagues and I warned about what the defeat of Armenia in Nagorno-Karabakh and the occupation of the territory of Artsakh by Azerbaijan would lead to. In addition to the tragedy of the Armenian people and the displacement of more than 100,000 people, we will get a strengthening of Azerbaijan and problems here. If we give in there, we will have to deal with the consequences here. Well, now the results are apparent—we were right,” the journalist noted.

According to him, it is quite possible that the threat to Russia may not only come through diplomatic channels but also through the detention of some people with Russian passports on the territory of Azerbaijan.
