Yevgeny Satanovsky: Armenians are no longer in Karabakh, peacekeepers have nothing to do there
Russian political scientist, founder and president of the Institute of the Middle East, Professor Yevgeny Satanovsky commented to Alpha News on the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from Karabakh.
According to the expert, Pashinyan did everything possible to surrender Karabakh, therefore, this issue will further fall under the competence of Azerbaijan and Russia.
“There is official information. The Azerbaijani and Russian leaders agreed on this. What kind of peacekeepers are we talking about if the Armenian population is no longer there and, accordingly, no one will slaughter it, shoot it, or deport it, as before? So, it turns out that Russian peacekeepers have nothing more to do there.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan surrendered Karabakh and recognized it as the territory of Azerbaijan. Pashinyan did everything possible to surrender Karabakh, and the Armenian population left it, rightly fearing for their future and the future of their children. So, in principle, peacekeepers have nothing to do there. These are issues that fall under the competence of Baku and Moscow,” Satanovsky said.
According to the political scientist, all questions should be asked of people who vote for Pashinyan, a man who erases the future of their country.
“There are no Armenians in Baku now. Now there are no Armenians in very, very many places where Armenians lived for centuries. In this case, all questions about Karabakh should be asked of Nikol Pashinyan. Why did he have to surrender Karabakh and abandon it? Maybe he will become rich like Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, or he already has. If Yerevan said that Karabakh is Azerbaijan, then all issues with peacekeepers would be decided by the Azerbaijani leadership. All questions should be asked of the people who elected Nikol Pashinyan as Prime Minister of Armenia. They vote for a person who erases the future of their country,” Satanovsky concluded.
