The West is trying to wreak havoc in Transcaucasia, and the countries of the region should fight these attempts, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova told reporters.
“We see a great desire of the countries of the collective West, in particular the NATO bloc, to fish in troubled waters, and before that, to stir up these troubled waters. This is not the first time these attempts have been made. I believe that other countries in the region are also historically well aware of this. Therefore, everything should be done to prevent the general destabilization—which is already created in various parts of the world due to the West’s desire to wreak havoc—from spreading to our region,” the official said.
“This region is long-suffering. It has experienced many conflicts and even bloody and cruel wars, which have left scars in the hearts of people of different nationalities. So I think we will gladly welcome those who want to bring peace, to help, to assist. But those who have a knife behind their back should go away from our region. We have devoted so much energy together to defending peace here that we must do everything to prevent these manipulators from launching their policy of controlled chaos. Because, by the way, this chaos has been uncontrollable for the last decades,” she added.
