Azerbaijan only needs to hiss at Pashinyan to achieve its goals — Yaakov Kedmi

Former chief of the Israeli intelligence service Nativ, Yaakov Kedmi, commented on the talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan and noted that Baku has no reason to attack Armenia because Pashinyan is already lying down under Azerbaijan.

“To achieve its goals, it is enough for Azerbaijan to just hiss at the Armenian prime minister, and he will immediately do what is asked of him, which has been the case lately. He has been fulfilling all of Azerbaijan’s demands in recent months and will continue to do so. There is absolutely no need to attack Armenia because Pashinyan is already giving in and lying down under Azerbaijan. So, with Pashinyan, it is very, very easy for Azerbaija. He is like plasticine; they put pressure on him, and he agrees,” the expert emphasized.

Yaakov Kedmi noted that all of Pashinyan’s actions can only be characterized as a betrayal of the Armenian people and the interests of the Armenian state.

“Everything that happened in Armenia under Pashinyan’s rule only confirms this. I cannot call this anything other than a betrayal of the Armenian people and the interests of the Armenian state. And it is the Armenian people who should decide how long they will tolerate such a prime minister who brought Armenia to its current state and is ready to continue further. Azerbaijan believes that it can achieve more. And therefore, it will try to achieve more. The fact that some concessions were made is probably not enough for Azerbaijan. It believes that it is entitled to more and that it can achieve it,” Kedmi concluded.
