Philanthropist Aso Tavitian’s collection exhibited at Sotheby’s

Sotheby’s will hold a sale of the collection of American entrepreneur and philanthropist of Armenian origin Aso Tavitian, Forbes reports.
Aso Tavitian died in 2020, donating more than 300 works to the Clark Art Institute. The upcoming auction will feature several hundred works from his collection with a total value of about $14 million. The organizers promise to donate the proceeds to charity.
One of the top lots of the collection is Ambrosius Benson’s Mary Magdalene Reading. It was put up for auction estimated at $600-800 thousand.
