It seems from the active contacts between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and French President Emmanuel Macron that Armenian-French relations are quite warm. Society thinks that if Armenia has problems again, France will provide military support.
Editor of Paris’s Nor Harach newspaper Jirair Cholakian spoke to Alpha News about the opinion of French Armenians.
“French Armenians are interested in Armenia, but the Armenian organizations in France do not find a way to establish a healthy dialogue with Armenia. Of course, there are organizations that have been cooperating with Armenia for many years. The relations with Armenia are more personal. There are structures, unions, which are mainly engaged in charity,” he said.
According to him, the tough stance of the Azerbaijani president towards France further strengthens Armenian-French relations.
“Politically, we always support the French government and state bodies so that they can organize activities to help and support Armenia. They always help if Armenia finds itself in a difficult situation. Aliyev’s tough stance has recently brought France and Armenia even closer. Naturally, military cooperation has also started to develop,” Cholakian noted.
Speaking about the new US policy, which was presented by Vice President JD Vance at the Munich Security Conference, Cholakian noted that the speech made a fuss not only in France but also in the whole of Europe. According to him, the Trump administration’s stance was shocking to Europe.
