MP Gegham Manukyan told reporters outside the Yerevan Investigative Department about the searches conducted at his home earlier that morning, noting that about 10 people who introduced themselves as employees of the National Security Service and Investigation Committee arrived unannounced.

“These are criminal proceedings initiated the day before against one of our young men. I told them: this is absurd, this is a disgrace. I’ve seen it all, I’ve seen the NSS, I’ve seen the old investigators. What does it mean to initiate a criminal case out of nowhere? Our youth union organizes various war games. There are many stores in Yerevan where they sell skyball, I don’t know its name. It’s a war game with small balls, with masks. They have plastic balls that explode during these games. They put peas in there to save money. They found this and labeled it a preparation for terrorism,” the MP said.

When asked if it is related to the coup case, Manukyan said, “This is a separate case, it has nothing to do with the coup case. But since Nikol said that everyone should be suspected, this morning they came with searches to the homes of several youth union members.”
