How can one become friends with an armed Turk? – The People Speak

As part of “The People Speak” project, Alpha News conducted surveys in Yerevan and Armenian-populated communities in the United States and Russia to gather citizens’ views on the most pressing issues of recent years.
Speaking about possible Armenian-Turkish friendship, one of the citizens noted:
“How can we cooperate, be friends or make peace with such a state? A Turk never lays down his arms. We do not learn lessons from our history. I want every Armenian to read the works of Samvel, David Bek, Mkhitar Sparapet at least once and draw parallels between our history and the present.”
According to the citizens, a good Turk is a dead Turk. Turks can be forgiven, but by Stalin’s method—by destroying them first.
“A nation that committed the massacre and the Armenian Genocide will never treat us well. I am simply astonished by those who think that these two peoples can live peacefully side by side,” said one of the respondents.
