Pashinyan suspects that Samvel Karapetyan could win elections – The People Speak

As part of “The People Speak” project, Alpha News conducted surveys in Yerevan and in Armenian-populated communities in the United States and Russia to gather public opinion on today’s most pressing issues.
Survey participants expressed a negative attitude towards the campaign of the Armenian authorities against the Armenian Apostolic Church. “Pashinyan cannot interfere in the affairs of the church. The church has always been separate from the state,” said one respondent.
“I condemn this. I am outraged and astonished by the direction we’re heading,” emphasized another participant.
The overwhelming majority of respondents noted that the head of state has no right to remove the Catholicos. “Everyone respects the Catholicos. And Pashinyan must disappear from this country,” one respondent declared.
The survey participants also spoke in defense of entrepreneur and philanthropist Samvel Karapetyan. They noted that Karapetyan’s charity should not be overlooked.
“By targeting Samvel Karapetyan, Pashinyan is afraid that he will take his place. He suspects that Karapetyan could win the upcoming elections,” another respondent noted.
