Artem Oganov consistently ranks among top 2% of scientists worldwide

The latest edition of the global ranking of the top 2% of scientists, compiled by Elsevier, has been released. These rankings reflect both the scientific activity of researchers and the impact of their work.

Artem Oganov—a renowned Russian theoretical crystallographer of Armenian descent, mineralogist, chemist, professor at the Russian Academy of Sciences, and faculty member at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology—has consistently ranked among the top 2% of scientists worldwide since the ranking’s inception in 2017. His metrics show rapid and sustained growth.

The number of scientists included in the top 2% has grown significantly—from over 100,000 in 2017 to more than 230,000 in 2024. In the field of Applied Physics, among 314,460 researchers, Oganov ranked 85th in 2024 and 245th overall across all years.
