As part of “The People Speak” project, Alpha News conducted surveys in Yerevan and Armenian-populated communities in the United States and Russia to determine citizens’ opinions on the most pressing issues of the day.
Speaking about the campaign against the Armenian Apostolic Church, citizens called it unacceptable, emphasizing that the Church has preserved the identity of the Armenian people.
“I’m always for the church, for God. We’re proud to be the first Christians and we must carry that out to the end,” noted one respondent.
According to another respondent, our Church, our faith is our state of mind and there should be no conflict or censorship around it.
Speaking about possible Armenian-Turkish friendship, one citizen noted: “The Turks may behave well at first, but then they will definitely stab you in the back.”
Citizens believe that establishing relations with the enemy is quite difficult.
According to another respondent, Armenia is historically located in such a way that there will be no complete security.
“Military training and security must be strengthened,” emphasized one citizen.
