Attorney Erik Aleksanyan declares strike over arrest of Alexander Kochubayev

Attorney Erik Aleksanyan has announced an indefinite strike following the arrest of his colleague Alexander Kochubayev.

On October 16, attorney Alexander Kochubayev was arrested near the building of the Shengavit District Court of General Jurisdiction in Yerevan. A public criminal case has been initiated against him. He has been charged under Part 2 of Article 490 of the Criminal Code (dissemination of information that defames the honor and dignity of a judge, prosecutor, or investigator, or otherwise harms the rights and legal interests of these individuals in connection with their lawful official or professional duties).

It is noted that the charges against Kochubayev stem from a post he made on Facebook.
