Stephan Soghomonian named Player of the Week in US college league

Stephan Soghomonian, who plays for the SMU Mustangs of Southern Methodist University, has been named Player of the Week in the U.S. college soccer league, Sportaran reports.

TopDrawerSoccer named Soghomonian the National Player of the Week, while the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) honored him as the Offensive Player of the Week for the second time in three weeks.

Soghomonian scored 8 goals over the past four matches. Last week, he was the key figure in both of SMU’s victories—a 3–2 win over Boston College and a 2–0 win over Central Arkansas. In the latter, he came off the bench to score a brace, and then went on to net a hat-trick in an ACC match that earned his team three crucial points.

All five of SMU’s goals last week were scored by Soghomonian.
