During his upcoming visit to Turkey, Pope Leo XIV will participate in a prayer service at the Holy Mother of God Patriarchal Church.

The visit to the church, located in Istanbul’s Kumkapı quarter, is scheduled for the final day of the pontiff’s trip. His Holiness is expected to spend about half an hour at the church, where he will be received by the Armenian Patriarch of Constantinople, Archbishop Sahak Mashalian.

Pope Leo XIV’s visit to Turkey is set to take place from November 27 to 30. During the trip, he will meet with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I of Constantinople, after which a joint declaration will be signed. The visit is part of the celebration marking the 1,700th anniversary of the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea—one of the most significant milestones in the history of the Christian Church.
