Supreme Spiritual Council discuss processes concerning clergy unlawfully deprived of freedom

On November 4, a regular session of the Supreme Spiritual Council was convened at the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, under the chairmanship of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians.

The meeting opened with the Lord’s Prayer, after which the Catholicos of All Armenians extended his blessing and warm wishes to the clerical and lay members of the council, expressing gratitude for their dedicated service to the Holy Church and wishing them fruitful work.

The agenda of the session included issues related to challenges in public life, the anti-clerical campaign, legal processes concerning clergy unlawfully deprived of freedom, as well as citizens held captive in Azerbaijan, the preservation of the spiritual and cultural heritage of Artsakh and national identity, administrative and disciplinary matters of the Church, and the activities of dioceses and episcopal sees.
