The situation in the Caucasus requires constant attention, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergey Shoigu said during a meeting with his Armenian counterpart Armen Grigoryan.
“It is important for us to synchronize our positions. Everything concerning recent events—various developments that have taken place in the region, both in the Caucasus as a whole and in the South Caucasus—requires our constant attention and consultations,” he said.
Grigoryan, in turn, assured that he was “ready to share details” about the situation in the region and thanked Shoigu for the opportunity to meet.
Today, a meeting of the secretaries of the security councils of CIS countries is taking place in Moscow. On the sidelines of the meeting, Shoigu will hold several separate bilateral talks, including with his counterpart from Azerbaijan.
