Memorial plaque to Yervand Kochar unveiled in Tbilisi

A memorial plaque was unveiled on Pushkin Street in Tbilisi to mark the 125th anniversary of the birth of prominent Armenian artist and sculptor Yervand Kochar. Kochar lived in this house from 1899 to 1922.
In addition to officials, the event was attended by the director of the Yervand Kochar Museum and the artist’s granddaughter, Karine Kochar.
The Yervand Kochar House-Museum still preserves the statue of Shota Rustaveli created by him, as well as his personal correspondence with artists Lado Gudiashvili, Elene Akhvlediani, David Kakabadze, and others.
The memorial plaque was unveiled with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of Armenia, the Tbilisi City Hall, and the Embassy of Armenia in Georgia.
