Defense Ministry responds to media reports about death of Armenian officer

Press Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Aram Torosyan, addressed the media reports regarding the death of an Armenian officer in Vardenis.

“Certain media outlets and Telegram channels have been spreading a misleading report titled ‘In Vardenis, an employee of the Ministry of Defense died in an accident’, accompanied by a photograph of a conscript serviceman.

We inform that the mentioned incident occurred under circumstances and in a location entirely unrelated to military service. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has provided the media with the relevant comment.

We urge our media partners to approach publications related to the army with responsibility, avoid misleading headlines, rely only on verified official sources, and refrain from spreading information that may distort reality or cause concern among the families of servicemen,” he said.
