Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, urged Armenia to think about whether it will be able to sell its cognac, vegetables and fruit in the European Union.
“If you have decided on the European Union, well, why are you in such a hurry? Have you clearly determined where your cognac will be taken, where your vegetables and fruit will be taken? In what volume?” Lukashenko said at a meeting with the heads of government delegations taking part in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Minsk.
He urged Armenia to consider whether it could replace, with sales on the EU market, the volumes it currently sells on the EAEU market.
“If you have made sure that France will buy your cognac (they have nowhere to put their own, but they will buy yours), good, go ahead. (But) why are you rushing? Why are you putting the cart before the horse?” Lukashenko added.
