Tensions in Syria remain high. Overnight, clashes broke out between the Syrian Democratic Forces and Kurdish forces, resulting in casualties and injuries.

The situation escalated to the point where heavy machine guns were used, with government forces shelling Kurdish neighborhoods. Armenians in Aleppo witnessed with their own eyes how the sky lit up with rocket explosions.

Aleppo-based Armenian journalist Hovhannes Shehirian told AlphaNews that clashes of such scale had not occurred before. “The situation was terrifying; the sky was ablaze with fire,” Shehirian said.

Fortunately, according to him, there were no Armenian casualties or injuries.

“Christian districts, the Armenian neighborhood, and the cemetery were in the area where the explosions took place. The situation is relatively stable now, but among Armenians there is fear that clashes could resume at any moment,” he added.
