Authorities fail to realize that society is leaning toward supporting Samvel Karapetyan – The People Speak

As part of “The People Speak” project, Alpha News conducted surveys in Yerevan and Armenian-populated communities in the United States and Russia to determine citizens’ opinions on the most pressing issues of the day.
Survey respondents discussed the possibility of friendship with Turkey, noting that it is impossible to improve relations with a state that seeks to destroy the Armenian people.
“What kind of relationship can there be with Turkey if they say Armenia should not exist and the Armenian people should disappear?” said one participant in the Alpha News survey.
Citizens say the country needs a leader who is truly committed to Armenia and its people.
“The head of state must protect the interests of the people. If the Armenian people unite, together we will certainly achieve success,” noted another respondent.
Respondents also consider the government’s campaign against the Armenian Apostolic Church unacceptable.
“The current authorities are trying to forge their own path, without realizing that the people are even more supportive of Samvel Karapetyan,” said one survey participant.
