Armenian Canadian musician Raffi awarded Canada’s highest honor

World-renowned singer, environmental activist, and public figure Raffi has been named a Companion of the Order of Canada, the country’s most prestigious award, granted for outstanding contributions to its development.
This recognition celebrates his many years of work in music and the activities of the Raffi Foundation for Child Honouring, which promotes ideas of environmental protection and the well-being of children.
Raffi Cavoukian, often called “the king of children’s music” and “the most popular children’s singer in the English-speaking world,” is known for hits such as Baby Beluga and Bananaphone. He has released more than twenty albums and earned three Grammy nominations.
