Our first step will be to create 300,000 new jobs in Armenia – Narek Karapetyan

In all regions we see one main problem – the lack of jobs, said Narek Karapetyan, coordinator of the “Our Way” movement, during the presentation of businessman Samvel Karapetyan’s economic program.

According to him, they will present measures that will change people’s lives.

“The steps have been developed as a result of years of work. In the regions there are no jobs, and because of this people leave for abroad, leaving their families behind, which leads to numerous negative consequences. What we propose is to create 300,000 new jobs. We have a planned policy for how to create these jobs in Armenia,” he noted.

Karapetyan emphasized that Armenia imports $7 billion annually, while the difference between imports and exports is nearly $4 billion.

“As a result, Armenia sends $4 billion more out than it receives. We are becoming poorer by $4 billion. And this amount is compensated in the following ways: either through remittances from abroad or through government debt. In other words, we are living on debt,” Narek Karapetyan stressed.
