There is no problem at all in dealing with the CSTO, said Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan during a press conference, responding to Nikol Pashinyan’s claim that CSTO membership had hindered Armenia from purchasing weapons from other sources.

According to him, he also has a certain disappointment with the CSTO.

“All CSTO member countries—except Russia—have much better relations with Azerbaijan than with Armenia. This is already a problem for us. What have we done to avoid spoiling our relations with the CSTO? On the contrary, we have done everything to create this situation.

What does the CSTO represent without Russia? Nothing. The CSTO should be viewed as a Russia-centered structure, and we must understand that we are dealing directly with Russia. And if you spoil relations with Russia, and then say they do not give you weapons—I would say you did everything to make them treat you poorly,” Kocharyan said.
