Armenians at Oscar Nominees Luncheon 2026

The traditional luncheon for the nominees of the 98th Academy Awards took place on February 10, 2026, at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Among the Hollywood stars at the event were producer Sev Ohanian and director Madeline Sharafian.

Madeline Sharafian, an American director of Armenian descent and creator of the animated film Elio, is competing for the award in the “Best Animated Feature Film” category.

Sev Ohanian, an American producer of Armenian descent, is nominated in the “Best Picture” category for the film Sinners. Ohanian’s film set a record by receiving 16 Oscar nominations, while Sharafian became the first Armenian woman in Pixar’s history to direct a feature-length film.

The 98th Academy Awards ceremony will be held on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles.
