Poverty comes from poverty of their mind, not ours – survey in Aparan

During a survey conducted in Aparan, residents criticized the authorities’ claim that poverty “exists in people’s heads.”
According to the residents, the government bears the main responsibility for the country’s difficult social situation. One respondent, drawing a parallel with the family model, noted: “When the head of the family is poor, so is the family. It’s not us who are poor, it’s our leader who has a poor mind. If I don’t have a job, is that because of my mind?”
Residents of Aparan pointed out that the situation of pensioners today is catastrophic: “With 20–30 thousand drams you can only pay utility bills, what is the state for then?”
Residents noted that the situation in the country will change only when serious, balanced figures who uphold national values come to power.
