How to address security concerns and straighten Armenia’s “crooked spine”: Karapetyan’s team in Syunik

The Strong Armenia party is presenting Syunik residents with Samvel Karapetyan’s vision for building a strong country. In Syunik, his allies have placed security concerns front and center. It is time to straighten Armenia’s “crooked spine” and build a secure, reliable state, says party council member Narek Karapetyan, arguing that the current authorities’ policies are incapable of delivering lasting peace.

“Weak peace means making concessions. Strong peace means speaking as an equal, your door is not open to every demand,” Narek Karapetyan said.

In Sisian, Karapetyan’s team is already laying out the economic steps that would lift the country out of poverty and unemployment. Armenia lacks effective economic governance, his allies argue — but every problem has a solution.

“If there is someone who can lead this country out of poverty, let the people name who that is. But people with that kind of experience are few. Armenia needs a leader who knows how to negotiate well, who can reach agreements and do whatever it takes to see them through,” the party coordinator said.
