The United States has achieved its strike objectives against Iran, and the campaign can now be brought to a close, Vice President JD Vance said in an interview with Fox News.

“I think we’re in a situation where we’ve achieved our objectives… We can start winding down the operation. I would prefer that we wind it down through big and successful negotiations,” he said.

According to Vance, the ball is now in Tehran’s court when it comes to resuming dialogue. He noted that the nature of any negotiations could change fundamentally if Iran does not reopen the Strait of Hormuz.

The Vice President added that enriched uranium remains the sticking point in resolving the conflict. He clarified that the United States is insisting on the full seizure of these materials from the Islamic Republic of Iran.
